7 month photo shoot!

I love our monthly photo shoots in Braxton's nursery!! I get Braxton dressed up in a handsome outfit and then Luke and I act like complete clowns trying to get him to cheese as big as possible. Oh to be a fly on the wall......

7 months old and counting......

Braxton, I count my blessings everyday because you continue to be an easy-going, laid back baby!! I know that you must get that from your daddy:) This month has been so fun because more of your sweet personality is coming out. I love to watch you play and try new things. I cannot believe how big you are getting...its hard to even imagine you as a newborn anymore.

The facts: You are still a little guy with weight in the 5 percentile but we are not concerned because you are growing at a steady rate and are meeting all of your developmental milestones. On March 28 you tipped the scales at 14.7 lbs.
You have had 2 ear infections this month. You do not fuss at all or run a fever so the only way that we knew was at a doctors appointment.
You continue to be an early riser.....you like to start your day consistently around 5:30AM...boo. Mommy hates getting up so very early but I do love our playtime in the morning after you nurse. Daddy drops you off at school everyday around 7:30AM. You consistently eat 4 6oz bottles at school and then mommy picks you up around 5:45PM. You still are not a great napper and even at school you only take short cat naps throughout the day. This makes for a sleepy boy when we get home at night. Your nighttime routine consists of eating 4 1oz cubes of baby food, followed with a bath because you are a messy, messy eater. This month we have introduced peas, bananas, peaches, mangos, and apples. After bath time, you always are ready to nurse and then bed between 7-8PM. I wish you would play a little at nighttime but you are generally just too sleepy:(
At night, you sleep in your crib with cotton pajamas with a fleece sleep sack. You mostly sleep on your side or your tummy now. Mommy was a nervous wreck the first few nights that you rolled onto your tummy but the nervousness has passed. This month has not been a great night for sleep in the Hill household between coughing, a stuffy nose, and ear infections.
You are still wearing mostly 0-3 month clothes but we are slowly transitioning into 3-6 months. You are wearing size 2 Huggies.

What you are doing: Your daycare was closed for spring break so I took off and stayed home with you. We hung out on the floor ALOT because I was determined that you were going to start rolling really well before you started sitting. I'd say we were successful because by the end of the week you were rolling across the living room. This month you also learned to splash in the tub, and make the Indian noise when I move my hand at your mouth. You are now prop sitting really well and are even sitting independently some. Bad news, you cannot catch yourself at all so when you fall, it's quickly. You like to play with your sippy cup but you have no idea what it's actual function is yet. Ha
Recently you have started a pretty bad habit that we are not fond of. You cry when mommy and daddy leave you alone to play on the floor. It's amazing because there are no tears and you immediately stop if we pick you up. Can anyone say behavior? Ha. We are working through it, meaning you have had to cry it out a few times.
Trying to figure out the sippy!
A new facial expression (a grin)
Loving bath time in the duckie!!
Sitting up so big!
Things you like: Splashing in the tub, attention, the camera( you smile as soon as its out), watching big boys play, playing with the crinkly wipe package during diaper changes (it's the only thing that will keep you on your back)
Easter Vigil
Easter Sunday
Dad, I got this
Things you dislike: shots, ear infections, and having your nose sucked

Big events: Braxton got a new baby cousin, Piper Elaine. He attended his 1st crappie camp. Easter and 6 month pictures

Easter Festivities

I love starting family traditions and holidays are by far the best time to do this! I am completely aware that Braxton has no idea what we are doing this year and I understand that Luke thinks I'm crazy but I don't care. Its fun for me:)
So we dyed Easter eggs together as a family and of course Braxton had an Easter basket from the bunny!!!!
What exactly is on my head??
These are fun!
We also got Easter pictures made....I personally am not a fan of the giant bunny at the mall so luckily we found a great alternative! TEAMworks put on a fantastic Easter picture fundraiser to raise money for the upcoming trip to Guatemala to assist special needs children in orphanages. (Visit the blog to learn more www.teamworksukraine.com )  The wonderful Blanca Garcia took the pictures and of course the stars of the event were the live bunnies and ducks!!!
I'm nervous!
So  fun!
Those things are neat
We loaded up the family and headed to Morrilton to stay with Grandma and Pop for Easter weekend. We were able to meet my dad and grandma on Friday for lunch at Copelands in Little Rock and Braxton sat in a high chair at a restaurant for the first time. On Saturday we were able to visit Luke's Grandpa and Grandma Hill for a delicious lunch.
Lunch with Grandpa
Braxton was having a great day on Saturday so we decided to go ahead and go to the Easter vigil mass with Luke's parents. It was beautiful but I have officially decided that mass with a baby is HARD and I am sure it will only get harder once Braxton is really mobile. We ended up in the cry room because he got tired but overall he did great.
Ready for church
Checking out my basket from the Easter Bunny

Sweet Piper loved her bunny ears!
