6 month photo shoot!!

We have to continue our monthly photo shoot with Braxton wearing his ties!!

Schnebelen family crappie camp

My family has a yearly tradition during spring break that dates back to before I was even born. All of my uncles pack up and head to Lake Conway with their campers. They spend the week camping, drinking, and fishing all night using yoyos. I do not camp but I have always loved going out on the boat, drinking a beer or two, and listening to stories detailing all the trouble my uncles once got into. I cannot wait until Braxton is old enough to go out fishing with them, to learn how to run yoyos, and hopefully learn what not to do as a teenager. HA
This year the weather was amazing! It was almost 80 degrees outside on Friday and Saturday which meant that it was plenty warm enough for baby B to check out what crappie camp was all about! Braxton did great which is good because crying is not allowed. He loved laying on our laps and watching the leaves blow in the trees and the dogs run around. He even took a nap with his pack-in-play set up in the fresh air under some shade! Everyone kept talking about what a good baby you are! Yea!

Meeting Miss Piper

My beautiful little niece was born Tuesday afternoon but I had to wait until the work week was over to snuggle her and soak up her cuteness on Friday morning!!!

She is absolutely perfect but I'm not sure who she looks like!! She is soooo small but the crazy thing is that she is actually bigger than Braxton was.....it's crazy and sad how quickly you forget. I loved taking in her little fingers and little toes and staring at her sweet face as she slept away in my arms!!

Big Yawns
Sleepy Head
Look at all that HAIR!!!!
Braxton was excited to meet his baby cousin also!! We were able to visit on Friday and Saturday but we will not see her again until Easter in 2 weeks:(

Love Love Love this picture
Whoops....Braxton thought he should give Piper a taste test!

Piper Elaine Hoyt

March 12 was a BIG, BIG day......Braxton's newest cousin Piper finally made her arrival. She was born in Little Rock at 4:24pm weighing 7 lbs 1 oz and measuring 19 3/4 inches in length. Amber started having contractions late Monday night and even went to the hospital Tuesday at lunch only to be sent home until her contractions were closer together. Little did her doctor know that in less than 3 hours Piper would make her big debut.
At 3:30pm Amber and Steven rushed to the hospital and Luke left NWA to go and meet his new niece. Braxton and I couldn't make the trip because 3 hours there and 3 hours back is too much for baby B in one day. We had to rely on text messages and photos to stay up to date.
The hospital staff tried but poor Amber wasn't able to get an epidural because she had progressed too far. Overall, the delivery was fast but I'm not sure Amber would describe it as smooth....since a natural childbirth was not in her plans!!!!
Enough with the talking.....meet my beautiful new niece.....Piper Elaine Hoyt!!!

6 month pictures!!!

March 9 was a big, busy day because we had pictures scheduled with Jillian Thomas to celebrate your 6-month birthday!! I was nervous because we got bad news on Friday at your well child appointment.....Braxton had his first ear infection. We had no indication whatsoever that your poor ears were hurting, except a small runny nose. You are just so dang good all the time. I was nervous that your ear would be hurting and we wouldn't be able to capture your normal smiley self. But no worries, you were a ham just like always. Here are a few sneak peeks. Jill is editing a disc with all the images soon. Yay!!!!!

6 months old and counting.......

To Braxton Cole: I cannot believe that you are 6 months old. Time has passed so quickly and yet I cannot remember what our home was like before you. You bring so much joy and happiness to our lives, from your morning smiles to nighttime snuggles. Mommy and daddy love you so very much!!! Happy 1/2 birthday!!!!!

The facts: Drumroll please......you now weigh a total of 13 lbs 4 oz. We thought for sure that you were bigger than the 5th percentile this month because you have really chunked up but according to Dr. Averitt you are still a little guy in the 5%. You are 25 inches tall which falls in the 10 percentile and your noggin is 17.5 inches which is 70th percentile. So basically you are still a little guy with a big noggin. Hehe
You still start your day consistently at 5:30AM with nursing and playtime with mommy. Then it's off to school with dad you go!! At school you have 4, 6 ounce bottles and then mommy picks you up around 5:45pm. At nighttime, you have big boy food for dinner and then nurse 1x before hitting the sack sometime between 7-8pm.
On February 14 we ran out of your freezer stash of breast milk so your bottles are now half breast milk and half formula. You did not seem to notice the change and are still a great eater!
On February 5 we introduced big boy food and you love it. Mommy took some time in January to make and freeze your baby food so you could have fresh fruits and veggies. It makes things sooo easy. At nighttime we just grab an ice cube (1oz) of whatever fruit or veggie sounds tasty. So far you have tried....avocado, squash, pear, sweet potato, carrots, and green beans. You were not a huge fan of avocado but have gobbled everything else up. You love to grab the spoon and try to feed yourself...it's a huge mess but too cute!!
You are wearing all 0-3 month clothes but they are starting to get a lil short and snug.

What you are doing: prop sitting for brief moments, rolling back to tummy over each side, rocking in sitting and on your tummy, eating big boy food every night, and blowing raspberries on mom and dad. You make mommy work hard because you are not a very motivated mover so the PT in me wants you to roll more but you are pretty content on your back or belly playing.
You officially are now sleeping through the night consistently!!! Yay for mommy and daddy!
Trying to get motivated about moving!!
I'm Big...I can hold my bottle all by myself!
What you like: You love riding in your backpack with daddy, blowing raspberries, your toes, having your thighs gobbled, playing peak-a-boo with daddy, and mommy's hair
What you dislike: shots, long car rides (over 3 hours), and wind in your face.

Big events: First airplane ride, first vacation to Colorado, first trip to Oaklawn, and first time to be babysat by grandma DD all day and until 2AM
