Braxton Cole, you continue to amaze your daddy and I daily! Your personality is really emerging and we feel so blessed because you are so easy going and laid back. I cannot believe that you are almost 1-year-old!

The facts: Tubes in your ears have saved us so much time and money this month because you have not been sick so we have had NO doctor appointments. Yay!! That also means that we are not sure about your height or weight currently. You are steadily growing and on July 21st we installed your big boy car seats! You are still rear facing and will stay that way until you are at least two but you enjoy sitting up higher and being able to look out the windows!
Eating: You continue to be an excellent eater. You are now eating 5 6oz bottles everyday, 2 snacks at daycare, 1 stage 3 baby food for lunch, and finger foods for dinner. You will eat every fruit or vegetable that we offer you but you refuse to eat bread or noodles of any sort. That's right, apparently our son hates carbs....hehe
Routine: You are still an early riser and typically wake up sometime in the 5 o'clock hour. Luckily for us you will go right back to sleep snuggled up with mommy and daddy in bed. During the week we get up around 6:30 so we can get ready and head out the door by 7:15. Daddy drops you off at school at 7:30 and mommy picks you up at 5:45. You typically fall asleep for a quick nap on the way home and then we end the day with playing, eating dinner, bath time, and bedtime bottle in your chair between 7-8PM. We are trying to do better at establishing a routine including a bedtime story but you haven't shown much interest so far.
At school right now you are consistently taking a morning and afternoon nap ranging in length from 45-90 minutes.
You are wearing size 3 Huggies diapers, size 3 nighttime diaper, and mostly 3-6 month or 6 month clothes. You are wearing 6-9 month pajamas.
What you are doing: You have spent this month perfecting your skills. We haven't seen many "new" tricks but you are cruising around everything now, walking all around the house with your push-toy, and standing by yourself for brief moments alot. You are a pushing fool, pushing anything that moves around the house such as toys, boxes, or laundry baskets but you have no idea how to turn them around so the game is over when you hit a wall. You added Uh-Oh to your vocabulary this month and you love to use it as you throw something onto the floor purposefully. You also imitate truck/car noises when you push them around the house(Vroom). You have finally learned all about high fives and blowing kisses and you have perfected the "How big is Braxton" trick. We are working on "What do the piggies say" now. You have started showing interest in spoons this month but we haven't let you attempt self feeding yet. You love "5 little monkeys swinging in a tree" and have multiple hands motions that daycare taught you. Sadly I have to admit that Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is your favorite TV show and we do let you watch it while we try to get ready in the mornings. You discovered how much fun getting into the dishwasher and refrigerator are this month and you dart every time you see the doors open.
Things you like: Water, Outside, Music, Bathtime, dishwasher and refrigerator
Things you dislike: nose sucking, diaper changes, and getting dressed....anything that requires you to be held down.
Big events: Riding a carousal, Splash Park, Gentry Safari
